Because the guy he's running again, Gore, got a sweet deal as correspondent and never got near combat. A lot of the current generation of politicians sleazed out of combat duty.

The two cases are miles apart. Clinton manipulated and lied, over and again. At worst George W's dad pulled a string for him. GWB didn't systematically con and deceive anyone.

By the way, another reason GWB will win is because he is a handsome fellow. A lot of the same women who voted for Clinton because they thought he was handsome will vote for GWB because they think he is handsome. You might not like that, but its the country we live in.
