I called the kids to come watch when he gave the rap about never betting that the Jack of Hearts couldn't spit cider in your ear. I've told that same rap to the kids myself, so they got a kick out of seeing it on TV! They also like the one about "Never eat at a place called Mom's, never play cards with a man named Doc," and I forget the third one, so we have fun making up an ending to the saying. Being a mother is fun! Especially now that they are largely self-sufficient. Getting here was tough, though. And I still think it's gonna take a miracle for Nicholas to make it to adulthood with all his bones and body parts intact.
