I think the sad truth is that men need for women to be inferior in order to perform,
sexually.

It's even sadder if you believe this sexist nonsense.

eeek- well that is a sad commentary. Of course as you, and I, and others have observed SI is predominantly male- so it does take on the essence of a male sandbox. I have gotten to the point where I ask Mr. X not to tell me the "great" jokes he heard at work. Sometimes they are funny, but at least half the time they make me mad- because they ARE sexist. But then my husband would NOT want to hear my dinner conversations with my dear friend when we essentially rip all the annoying tendencies we label "male" in our respective spouses.

Wow, how nice that I spent the last couple of hours in a saner place. That is no reference to you, I assure you. How silly that someone in their 50's, male or female, would not recognize the sad truth behind the joke you relayed. How different to be somewhere, amongst younger people, where that didn't exist. Everyone played their game. But they know they're not even the norm for their age group, though it's better overall. At 40, I know all too well that 20 years ago a woman wouldn't have beaten a man at pool, or anything else, without it being a deal. Most males, that is. And I still steer clear of playing against men my own age or older. I've found, unfortunately, that it's still a deal. The disappointment I feel when they get huffy makes the game not worth it.
