Hi Rob, Amazing, I didn't know Fidelity has a policy that would allow them to work against you like that. I hope you mentioned to them that you were not "trading" the account, but managing the level of risk - as any good fiduciary would do.

When I've had my own discussions with a couple of mutual funds in the past, mentioning 'fiduciary' management has usually softened them up a bit.

I've been using Vanguard's Select Energy Fund (VGENX), but don't know if the performance is the same or not. So far, no problem, but I just started that account in Feb. I believe.

Best regards, Tom

Fidelty has ticked me off as well. They started charging a load on a fund I've held for years to store my "cash" (Cap&Income-FAGIX) if the funds are in for less than a year, but didn't notify me of the change in policy. I dumped a significant into FAGIX for what I planned to be 3 mo. then found out they were going to charge me a load. So, I've been slowly moving my stocks over to Brown & Co, and I've transferred all my wife's account to American Century.

Fidelity cotinues to dink around with their pricing policies trying to increase their revenues.

I may never completely close all my Fidelity accounts - their Select electronics (FSELX) has been an excellent performer and Brown & Co doesn't take mutual funds at this time. Also, it appears to have a reasonable anti-correlation to Fidelities Contra II (FCONX) fund.

Robert- Why not use the new SPDR vehicles for trading your energy ideas. On the AMEX trading like stocks you can find XLE as the closed end fund tracking energy.

Goodby Fidelity!

PS lots of sector funds- just search for "SPDR" in description.

Hi Robert -

I bought FSESX in April and took AIM profits at least four times before moving to FSPTX. Nobody said anything to me about it. Were your trades more frequent or are they inconsistent as well?

Your experience, among others, scares me.
