I agree. But mechanical will be relegated to the desktop. Solid-state is for the portable realm (just look at the massive new drive problems Sony is having the the newest 4x floppy Mavicas!). OEM's do not want even the remotest possibility of breakdown. All of them tout the fact that there are no moving parts in their devices now. This is a plus.

I agree too. But I don't know if it really matches the real-world marketplace. Does it track product link hits, or real sales from its subscribing resellers?
