(I've requested a uniform URL be posted with each message for easing reference postings by us. Any other beta users might want to do the same.)

Anyway, this is a posting of a rumor that Yahoo is looking to buy S3 for it's MP3 stuff.

This struck me as pretty funny. What MP3 stuff does S3 own? Why would Yahoo want to buy S3 to get DIMD's products? Would you go after a big fish to catch a smaller fish before the big fish has even eaten the small fish? Why wouldn't Yahoo just make an unsolicited offer for DIMD? I guess to avoid a bidding war, but S3 is going to make them pay anyway.

This stuff is getting curiouser and curiouser every day. Who would have guessed Yahoo would be getting into the 3D chip business?
