You're right about the probability of abuse in the older girls-- I hope the workers explore that. Also this weekend, here in the perfect bubble of Southlake, we had a murder-suicide. RIght in one of our lovely subdivisions where many of our friends live. A man shot his wife as she was jogging and then himself. It turned out they were visiting his sister, so at least they weren't FROM here. (WHy is that reassuring?) but they were both doctors! ANd have left a 6 and an 8 year old parentless. Everyone here is very upset...as if we have gates around us, some sort of invisible shield. These things DON"T HAPPEN HERE!
