"What is the best investment house out there to meet my needs? Should I go to a discount brokerage house, and if so, what is the best one out there?"
---

I don't think you can really answer this question without deciding what's most important to you - commissions, service, etc.

I've been with Schwab ever since they started "e.Schwab" and I'm very happy. Great customer service. The commissions are a little high ($29.95 for stocks, about $39 and up for options) but I get fair and fast execution. It works for me as I'm primarily a "buy-and-holder", not a trader.

Also, if you drop greater than $100k into your account they tack on a number of freebies (Unlimited RTQuotes, H&Q Research, etc.).

Teflon, since you don't need any advice, just good executions, I'd suggest Fidelity. Good web service backed up by an automated telephone service (Touch Tone Trader), which is backed up by csrs and brokers as a last resort. Active Trader fees are $15/trade on the web. Plus, they have a specialized service group for high roller options players.

Teflon:OT Check out the deal at ML they have been advertising something like $1500 flat fee for unlimited trades or some such thing. If you do 100 trades per year and there is no hidden other charges than this seems like a pretty good deal. Let me know what you find out.JFD
