JB, Gary is kept on a pretty tight leash by his masters. (IMO) they treat him like a second class citizen, with the usual elitist view of market technicians. When he brought up more serious trading issues late last year (I was fanning his flames BTW <g>), they quickly took away his subjective format and made him read charts in every column, period. He is narrow in what he discusses because that's what he trades. He certainly is not a day trader by any means. His strategies are all breakout stuff. There's a lot more to be said about TA but I suspect thestreet.com hired him especially because he's not in a position to discuss it. That other technician, Helene Meisler is major bad news as far as I'm concerned. She's incapable of making an original call on the market and routinely acts as a contrary indicator. Gary gets paid well for what he does, which isn't necessarily what you or I really care about when it comes to the market. I do have gripes with the quality of TA on the web. Have to be careful in expressing it because it's a small community out there. <his full service broker handles his actual entry and exit for him> He trades with Yamner. They're certainly a few cuts above a full service broker. Alan
