Ian: One difference between the two, tho, is that tobacco has already been vilified in the courts and in the public domain (much of it, their own doing, I may also add,) ie. the tobacco-led settlement with the ag's..so they have plenty of reasons to be silent...the gun lobby has more of a constitutional basis for their obstinancy...the constitutional right to bear arms...I'm not so sure tobacco has been as bright as they should have been..the most spectacular guffaw, the tob execs testifying before congress that tob isn't addictive.....
