Hello folks.
just a funny comparison between Novell and Inktomi (INKT).
INKT has some caching product similar to Novell ICS, a search-engine and a shopping-engine.
With an Internet-craze PE of 432 Quadzillion , a loss of 0,44 $ per share and sales of 10 Mio per quarter this company can hardly be compared to Novell's Monster position in the international market. So why does a company with these figures and that has never made a cent of profit trade at 150$/share ? Because it is an Internet SW company. Unfortunately NOVL is still looked at as the old LAN NOS company. BIG MISTAKE !
You know what happens once NOVL is out with digitalme, i-chain, Single-sign-on to Lan's , Hosts and the Internet etc. ? No E-commerce without NOVL, no Internet Banking without NOVL . In about 1-2 years even the most stupid analysts will understand Novell's potential, and the technology leadership in the Internet. So far nobody in the market understands the vision of E.Schmidt. In 18 months INKT will look like a joke potentialwise to NOVL. MS and IBM are 5 years behind Novell's technology and 10 years behind Schmidt's vision. I would not be surprised if NOVL would jump to a PE of 250 in 12-18 months at earnings of 1.00$/share. Novell's technolgy , its vision and the roadmap for its Produkts is so incredible, that for those who understand , buying and holding as much as you can is a must. To all longs : Don't get scared by Chart-analysts; they only look into the past and not into the future and : do not understand the vision !
What Schmidt is brewing in his kitchen is the most complete (and product-supported) Network Revolution the world has ever seen.
So far some of my thoughts for the faithful longs who feel the same.
GO NOVL the sky 's the limit.....
Chris

Novell

How do you make a 16-year-old networking software
company - whose products had been perceived as
growing obsolete in the age of Internet computing - an
exciting, desirable place to work at in the midst of
sexy Net start-ups?

That was the riddle facing Novell Chief Executive Eric
Schmidt when he joined the company in early 1997.
Schmidt, it can now be said, has done much in these
two short years to reshape the culture of the software
developer to inspire and motivate its 4,700
employees.
