Any of you last mile intelligentsia know why Redback Networks, RBAK, warrants such a high price? Do they sell something unique?

Question for the thread:
A friend of mine suggested to me that the problem with the bandwith getting clogged over cable when it gets busy, or a lot of people are using it is resolved by the broadcom chips. I did not believe this issue has been resoved by the chips or any other creative method....
If someone will help to clarify this for me it would be appreciatted.
