<<How do you know Bill Clinton didn't test well?>> Simple he lied to me.

<<Maybe any other man in his circumstances would have become an ax murderer and a jaywalker, instead of an adulterer and a perjurer.>> Ah but these were not any other man's circumstances they were BC's. We each have our unique set of circumstances. Indeed under given circumstances some men do become thieves, murderers etc; others become model beacons to light the way for the rest of us. Are you saying there are no men who would have done the honorable thing? I realize its a difficult question. Bill chose to live a life of deceit long before we called on him to stand on his honor.

He was raised by a doting mother, in relatively comfortable circumstances, and his stepfather, though abusive, was not a monster. He had plenty of opportunities to look forward to. I have known plenty of people in more extreme circumstances who grew up without becoming ax murderers. It is implausible to suppose that he overcame much of anything. On the specific issue of achieving his political aspirations, his assent is so tainted with allegations of corruption, many of them credible, if not provable in a court of law, and he has obviously been lucky (if Cuomo had run in '92, Clinton wouldn't have stood a chance), that it hard to give him full credit. At best, one could say that he is a conundrum....
