I fully agree. I did ask my ISP about this and the answer was that they had a policy of notifying users about subpoenas and allowing two weeks for legal response before providing names.

I think this is reasonable for the general case of civil suits. However, if the SEC issues a subpoena, I don't think SI should be obligated to notify you.
