TS,

I did ask my ISP about this and the answer was that they had a policy of notifying users about subpoenas and allowing two weeks for legal response before providing names.

What does your ISP have to do with SI?

Your ISP is simply a door to SI.

Thier policy has nothing to do with SI.

Your point?

Just wondering.

Have fun,
Phil

Who is hiding
or
Insiders and Promoters

The touts and shills.
The multi identity spam monsters
The quarterbacks and IR weasels.
Every two bit promoter, and there are thousands of them, is anxious to make a case against posters who ask questions. The disreputable dealers who head up stock scams have money to burn and spend it on every type of shill, cretin and tout you can think of. It is easy to identify people with an agenda. They stand out like sore thumbs.
As an anonymous member, I value my privacy. I don't like the idea that someone can get my personal info by knocking. I would like to be informed.

I also know that any company that bothers to find out the truth about who I am, is very unlikely to sue me, truth is like that.

"...if the SEC issues a subpoena, I don't think SI should be obligated to notify you"

What if the SEC issues a subpoena for your information, Tom? Do you still hold to this belief? If the SEC requires secrecy, they most likely won't forget to mention it to SI...

So long as it is within SI's rights, I believe that a member should be shown the courtesy and informed that a subpoena has been issued

Michael

However, if the SEC issues a
subpoena, I don't think SI should be obligated to notify you.

Why not?

We have a govenment of, by, and for the people. Our public servants, not our bosses.

We have every right to know what they are up to and when they want information about us.
