Premier Stock Picker Garrett Van Wagoner, Internet Columnist Larry Dignan On Today's Informed Investors Radio Forum
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jul 8, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE via COMTEX) -- If any mutual fund manager has rolled with the volatile technology stocks, it'sbeen Garrett Van Wagoner, founder and captain of the San Francisco-based Van Wagoner Funds(www.vanwagoner.com).
Despite a difficult 1997 when the Van Wagoner funds shed 20% of their value, performance in 1996 and 1998 were in the top quartile of mutual fund performance and thus far in 1999, results have been nothing less than platinum with results in the top 1%, according to Lipper.

Of the five Van Wagoner funds, the worst 1999 year-to-date performance is the Mid-Cap Fund (Nasdaq: VWMDX), up 53.5%. The best performer is the flagship Emerging Growth Fund (Nasdaq: VWEGX), up 114.2% through July 7.

Both MFNX and ABOV are really chomping on the bit.....anything good could trigger a major rally on these two.
