1. I have sent in 5 suggestions and not received one acknowledgement whether they even received any. Before the Go2net buyout, Brad or Jeff would personally acknowledge suggestions and thank the customers for them. TWO PEOPLE! Now they have a team of probably dozens and can't seem to interact with the customer in a meaningful way. The least they could do is write a simple email program acknowledging receipt of suggestions.

Of course right now they are in the middle of a beta test, and I noticed on another post somewhere that they have received literally thousands of suggestions, bug reports etc. Way too many to respond to personally, unless they did that to the exclusion of actually working on the site. As for "dozens" of people -- where do you get this information? I have only heard of them adding one person to the team. And when I submit a comment on the beta site, the screen does come back and tell me that the comment has been received.

After using the new beta for more than a week on and off, I have yet to find a new value added feature we didn't readily have available before.

I think that you have not looked at any of the stocksite stuff, then, for it is worlds better. It is true that the message boards are not radically different -- although the ability to see ten messages at a time is way cool IMHO -- but I would think that this respect for the successful status quo would appeal to you.

You complain that the change is not dramatic enough, then you complain that there is change at all. Internal contradictions are a sign of sloppy thinking, or else of simple whining.

So here we are, at the crossroad and defining moment of Go2Net's business

Wow. Get a life. All they did is give the frigging thing a facelift. I am not sure in which universe this qualifies as the "defining moment of Go2net's business", but it is certainly not the universe in which I live.

You know, the fact that there is a beta test which includes customers, the fact that there have been hundreds or thousands of suggestions that are being evaluated and incorporated, the fact that the SI team are involved in this thread and the others -- these all suggest to me that go2net and SI are doing everything just right.

I don't know what more you could want? You get a preview, you get to comment, they are clearly actually paying attention to the comments, you can find the executives of the company posting in these threads about the changes. the actual features and functionality are being changed according to user feedback.

What do you want?

Rick.
