The "male" drive to achieve? Are we back to that hoary old cliche my late husband used to love to quote? That is: "The woman is the bow; the man is the arrow."

I prefer the formulation: the "human" drive to achieve. In the case of females, it has historically been hobbled both by biology and by society. But it exists nonetheless.
