BNBN - on the other hand, compared to Amazon it's valuation/market cap is quite low. While it's yet to be proven that Amazon will be more profitable, or that BNBN can't eventually catch up to Amazon. Also the bricks and mortars stores do offer such a company advantages such as cheap marketing. All in all BNBN is the buy over Amazon IMHO especially at IPO price where it is now. In its infancy Amazon was stuck around 20 for some time before finally going up 500-1000%. BNBN has not made any of that move yet, but might start doing it.

Softbank - Steve, I heard your very insightful remarks on the Vcall program and while Softbank and a number of its investments - MESG, Etrade, etc - were mentioned you never, and have never as far as I know, put Softbank forward as one of the top investments. I can understand you may think it fully valued at current levels, but if so, how can a Go2net or a HSAC not be similarly fully valued. Softbank continues to impress me as the leading global internet holding company with interests around the world that are truly unrivalled. If what you say about the potential of MESG and other Softbank cos is true, Softbank should be in everyone's portfolio, no?

I think it also interesting that few people know that it can now be purchased here in the US. When it lists on NASDAQ later this year/early 2000, I fail to see how it can be anything but a moonshot.

Thoughts appreciated.

BR

FortuneCity - Steve you mentioned this on the Vcall program and I believe you said it is a private company. If my facts are straight, the company is public having listed on the Neuer Markt in Frankfurt earlier this year.

Hi Steve I read your recent comments about the MP3.Com IPO...
With today's 150 Million dollar deal I don't doubt that it will be H-O-T ... I thought you might find these #s interesting

MP3 a case study.
I did a search on Altavista on MP3 vs SEX "web presence"...
we've all seen the reports that MP3 is the most searched term on the net... but does it have "web presence" dominance as well?

"upercase" MP3 1,300,830 Web pages. + "lowercase" mp3 search 3,434,970 = 4,735,800

"uppercase" SEX 2,148,726 + "lowercase" sex 17,316,237 = 19,464,963

Answer= nope! Sex has 4.11X more web presence than MP3

Steve - your thoughts on DCLK purchase of NetGravity. Can anyone stop DCLK from becoming the most dominant force in internet advertising now? Thanks in advance.
