Still holding, but now it's a pure economic decision. I don't see what that has to do with consequence.

But since you bring it up yourself: I have stopped talking about this because, apart from a few who could see how unfair this is to the relatively large number of foreign investors, most Americans couldn't care less as long as they got in on the deal themselves (actually, since there is a small and finite number of shares available I expect there could even be some "less for you, more for us" in it).

The stock is still going up and I am still earning money on it. YOU on the other hand, assuming you are American, have this PLUS the IPO deal. Tell me again that it's "not all that" - look at the amount of interest just on this thread. Look at the hype around the IPO deal when and after it was announced.

I recently had another IPO "offered" which as it turned out was "unavailable for legal reasons to non US residents".

My broker has informed me that it is not a legal question - It's purely a practical decision by the underwriter who has enough customers as it is. A few online brokers used to have same attitude, but became more flexible as they became more hungry for our dirty foreign money.

I don't know what can be done about it. A bit like when they got Al Capone on tax evasion because they couldn't get him on anything else, I have sent a complaint to the SEC (http://www.sec.gov) about this "abuse" of the law (by calling it a legal reason when it is not). I suggest other foreign investors do the same.
