They also know that people who already have racial prejudices may seize upon the data as "proof" of one race's superiority or inferiority, and will try to build public policy upon it.

An amazing thing heard on a talk show as I dropped Ammo off at work just now-
A man called in and said that he didn't think atheists and agnostics had rights or were protected under the Constitution. When the bemused host asked him to explain this, he said that since everyone believed in God back then, that meant people who didn't weren't included in the Constitution. Then he said, "Besides we have it on our money.- 'In God we trust'."

The host tried to explain, but the guy was adamant. No sir- says right there about God in that Declaration. He was very nice about it, but he just knew he was right
.
So I would say there is good reason for people to be very careful what results they place before the public! Perhaps it isn't always political correctness, but caution that keeps us silent at times.
