Money is a powerful aphrodisiac. But flowers work almost as well. It may be better to be a live jackal than a dead lion, but it is better still to be a live lion. And usually easier. An elephant: A mouse built to government specifications. A woman is not property, and husbands who think otherwise are living in a dreamworld. This one is one of my favorites: Anyone who cannot cope with mathematics is not fully human. At best he is a tolerable subhuman who has learned to wear shoes, bathe, and not make messes in the house.
