"...and 3Com may indeed be about to sell a large part of its business to Germany's Siemens."

"Other Europeans, such as Alcatel, are interested too: if Siemens is serious, it should move fast."

Len, thanks, great article.
Nits to Pick:
LOL when he called Packet Switched "package switched". and even that is wrong, it's at least Fast Packet.(frame relay, ATM, IP, etc.)
And the author missed the point of the USR acquisition, the Palm.
He also failed to consider that Robin was only there what? 5-7 months?

God forbid the street yawns with the sale of a division or 2, consider CPQ and Alta Vista for example.
(seller side example.. CMGI shot up)

My fanatasy includes COMS getting huge contracts in China and ASIA
with the help of ZICA.

Tim, Morris and others wanting to make an asian internet access play, so far I see Zica connecting asian people to technology and Eric sees connecting people to information. Larry Ellison has NCI, now , what?, Liberate, with a Chinese TV settop internet appliance emphasis.
(see ZICA thread), Zi has a deal w/ them and ERICY.

GOOOOOOOCCCCCOOOOOOOMMMMMMSSSSS
(ooh, that felt goood!)
