Let me tell you something buddy. It is you that insist on characterising his behavious as criminal. I certainly have not done so. Whatever his connection to this story may be entirely legal (althogh likely unethical).

People ask me all the time if I work for or am paid by IDT. I have absolutely no problem immediately responding that: I do not work for or receive compensation of any kind whatsoever from IDT or any of its principles or subsidiaries or any company that has any association with them whatsoever. Further, no member of my family has such a connection.

All I am saying is that if Mr. Greenberg wants to be more trusted. He should have no problem saying. Neither he nor his family not his employer or supervisor is long or short any stock. They do not invest in ANY type of fund or partnership of any kind that may be long or short any stock he may report on and further that he receives no compensation of any kind whatsoever from any company or fund with any connection direct or indirect that may be involved in stocks he may report on.

If he would say THAT. I for one would feel more comfortable.

As for him filing a lawsuit. Get real. The main reason IDT did not respond publicly to his charges IMO was to preserve their rite to sue for damages. Had they publicly released something on the wires. He could have claimed that they in fact caused most of their own damages. I believe based on his story they could easily claim 200M in stock diminunation.

Finally, what he did was wrong. I deal with reporters all the time. Any one of them would laugh at me if I ever tried to plant a story like that. Somebody either owed somebody a favor, or somebody was tricked or somebody is just plain stupid.

If nothing else. I hope this teaches him to investigate his stories thoroughly in the future and not write headlines that attempt to mislead the viewers about the subject matter.

One other thing. If he ever sued me I would love to counter sue him for the money I lost and find out what the real source of that story was.

If I were him. I would appoligize and drop it.

I mean do you realise that Softbank invests in his company as well as net2phone? What an idiot. He could have at least called them and asked what the story was. Instead he painted his own invester with the same yello (no pun intended) brush

One other thing. A review of your profile and postings tells a lot about where you are coming from in your defense of Herb.

>>Mr. Greenberg has already dropped a hint that he is willing if necessary to pursue legal action against postings on this board. <<

Where did he drop this hint? On what grounds would he pursue legal action?
