Globalstar, the evolving sat-phone operator backed by Loral, got a show of
support from its boss, Bernard Schwartz.

According to Bear Stearns analyst Vijay Jayant, the Globalstar/Loral
chairman purchased 375,200 shares in the mobile satellite company between
June 24 and June 29, at around $21 a share. That took his ownership stake
to 897,804 shares.

As of press time, four more satellites for Globalstar's low-earth-orbit
constellation were scheduled to launch aboard a Boeing Delta 2 rocket from
Cape Canaveral Air Station early Friday morning. The mission was
