Thanks, Tom. I would really like to see AOL and T start to talk seriously about access. I am long AOL (and use ATHM via TCI, as well as AOL) but I hate to see the government intervening in issues like this one. The folks on the ATHM thread were bemoaning the ignorance of Ed Markey (D-Mass) as he spoke out in favor of open access. I agree with them. If Markey and people like him get involved they're not going to stop at the access issue. My fear is that they'll start regulating everything on the Net beginning with taxation. ATHM stock has been stuck in the mud for the past few months and they've been taking a beating on this access issue for all the wrong reasons. I'd like to see Armstrong and Case get reasonable, discuss rates and get on with it. These two companies need to start negotiating seriously. Soon.
