You seem to know a great deal about Mussolini. Socialism and democracy can co-existence; Sweden and Israel are cases in point. Somehow, I don't think Mussolini was the type of socialist/liberal we find in the so-called "welfare states" of Europe. And that WW Two deal with Hitler certainly showed what type of man he was, regardless of how highly you seem to regard his 1927 book. I guess a man can write an interesting book on economics that paints him in a positive light, but still be an evil person.
