Bill, There is no comparison between Quigley's Cold-Eeze and Zicam in terms of efficacy and the mechanism of action is completely different. May I suggest that you actually do some research before making remarks such as "The homeopathic cold remedy scam was born and died with QGLY". As for your comment that sales will be near zero at the retail level, you should know that Albertsons has reordered Zicam at least nine times since their initial order in February and Eckerd has placed multiple reorders as well. Sales at Albertsons have been so brisk that the company ordered all stores with a pharmacy to display Zicam on the counter. In total, Zicam will be placed in three locations in most Albertsons stores during the cold season. The buyer at Albertsons told me that they are making Zicam part of their "schematic", which is a layout of specifically where products must be displayed at all Albertsons stores. Now does this sound like zero sales at the retail level to you? The reorders came outside the cold season and without any serious advertising. How much Zicam do you think will be sold IF the NEJM publishes the study and the media picks up on it and plasters it on TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines? This will be free publicity for Zicam. Not only that, but based on indications from buyers at retailers, GumTech management expects Zicam to be on the shelf at nearly every major grocery store chain (Albertsons, Kroger, Safeway, Winn-Dixie, A&P, Food Lion, and Fleming), mass discount retailer (Walmart, Kmart, Target, Sams Club Fred-Meyer), and drug store chain (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Eckerd, American Stores, Longs) within the next 2 months. If the sell through at Albertsons and Eckerds is any indication of what one can expect, your prediction of zero retail sales is ludicrous, unsubstantiated, negative hype, and makes me question anything and everything that you post.
