<sympathy theory> My response was hastily crafted and I did not mean to imply mere sympathy as AFFX has an agreement with HGSI where AFFx has the rights to sell their expression monitoring DNA probes to HGSI and other members of a consortium based on HGSI's database! I do not have all the details at my fingertips and my notes are rather old, but I believe there are at least two agreements between AFFX and HGSI that combine HGSI's proprietary genetic sequence information with AFFX's Gene Chip platform. I expect it is a powerful combination for providing tools to perform genome scans as indicated by the price run-up. Could use some help from the biotech experts out there as my notes are encouraging but I am a little vague on the combinations implications. Any help welcomed! And welcome to the day traders!
