Nemer, the native Americans used Echinacea as an immune builder, kind of a natural antibiotic. If you've never used it before it should work well. Golden Seal flushes the kidney of toxins. Most of the time they are sold together. Also if you make the endeavor to get it at a health food store, there is a type of honey called "Manuka" honey. It's from New Zealand and has extremely high antibacteria and antiviral qualities. Some spoonfuls of that might assist with the coughing. They're using Manuka honey to treat ulcers now, it's very strong stuff.
