Chuckles - Re: "Now, there ain't anything that Intel watchers (or insiders) see to counter AMD on K7 - especially after the Coppermine fumble"

Three weeks from today, you will see Intel's first response to the K7 - although with the laughALON delays, this will have to be considered a "preempive" response !

Chuckles - Re: "back I had friends at Intel who were negative about Intel and at least one of whom went seriously short Intel and long AMD at K6 introduction. "

Whoa !

Bad timing !

The time to have bought AMD was 6 months PRIOR to the introduction.

I know !!!!

When the K6 was launched, AMD was already on the downhill slide.

Chuckles - Re: "current INTC short is well worth the risk. Yes, I could lose but I think the odds are in my favor. "

And why do you think the odds are in your favor?

You are already $16 underwater, considering your sale of Intel AND the SHORT !

Re: "If I were to have a loss I would write it off against the profits on Intel over the years and wouldn't even flinch "

That is a LOSER's ATTiTUDE.

NEVER ACCEPT a LOSS - always fight to avoid it or move from a losing situation ASAP into a winning situation.

You have done exactly the OPPOSITE !

You have sold a PROVEN WINNER - INTEL and bought a PROVEN LOSER - AMD.

That may possibly "work" in a short time frame, but long term, that investment strategy is a PROVEN LOSER.

AMD didn't become a loser for no apparent reason.

By the way - The VP/General Manager of AMD's Dresden Fab 30 has left AMD for a "better opportunity". This is a SPECIAL DELIVERY MESSAGE FROM AMD TO YOU. Do you know what it means?

Charles - <The giant is walking very gingerly into this Christmas season hoping for continued fumbles from AMD - that ain't a winner's strategy in my book.>

I don't agree with the Christmas part. When did Intel say they were walking away from the Christmas season?
