>>Has this stock any ownership in Virgin Atlantic?<<

No. Virgin Atlantic is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Virgin Group, which is privately-owned.

Virgin Express is the Virgin group's short-haul European airline. It is modelled EXACTLY on Southwest. Virgin Express's majority shareholder is the Virgin Group - a minority stake was sold to the public in November '98.

Virgin express had two bad quarters last year, due basically to growing pains. The stock (ADS) got hammered as a result. Virgin Express is now back on track and will report 2Q earnings in mid-August that are ahead of the analysts' projections, IMO.

Virgin Express is growing revenues at 20+% annually, has outstanding operating statistics (load factors around 80%), and will at some point print money. The ADS has great potential, either through the growth and operating success of Virgin Express, or through some merger/consolidation type transaction. In any case, it's a great value play and is my largest stockholding.
