I still own both asyt and brks. This should make for some intense competition, and validates asyst's "total solution" initiative that they've been stressing in recent cc and press. It looks like now there will be at least two companies capable of supplying a complete system (SMIF/robotics). With the general adoption of smif/mini there may be room for both companies. I think I'll continue to hold both positions but IMHO this announcement coupled with BRKS samsung alliance and core robotics line is definitely a cause for serious concern for asyst. I wonder how much brks will have to pay. It sounds like entirely a stock deal. Anyone want willing to venture a guess just for fun?
