I never have liked the idea of an ignore button. On occasion, even the town idiot has something intelligent to say. If I had him on ignore I would miss his 15 minutes of fame. You could easily miss the point of the conversation because you "Ignored" the beginning, and trying to piece it together doesn't always work. Too many links, news items, and points of interest will be duplicated because "Ignored" posted them first. The 'Next' button is so easy to hit. In the case of the new version, just scroll past.
