Microsoft Winux

There are rumors flying about regarding Microsoft's introduction of a proprietary version of Linux that skirts the open-source requirements by blurring the line between OS and added functionality: there's no requirement to open applications or value-added OS services.

As you know, Windows '95 was designed from day one around the browser which is an integral part of the operating system. Linux was designed around a pedagogical OS called Minux, consequently, wiring in browser functionality does not require Microsoft to divulge the code. I would rather trust Microsoft than some free-source scrub anyway.

Any news on Netscape's action against the Clinton administration? I understand Algore and Gates are close buddies and, according to the rumored complaint, Gates was given a taxpayer-funded head-start when Algore divulged his invention to Gates at a private retreat -- Algore invented the Internet for those not following the story.
