That sounds great if you are always listening to the entire disk, but, I think Allen had pointed this out before, you would waste a lot of power if skipping around filling the buffer with stuff you weren't listening to. Unless, of course, you could buffer the entire disk.<<

I think you misunderstood my post. Any digital music system will buffer only the data that's actually going to be required. So if you had a Clik! disk with a bunch of different MP3 tracks on it, you could play just the ones you wanted, without worrying about wasting power by running the disk to buffer unneeded data.

What I was talking about was the concept of "bonding" the music tracks to the specific disk, for the purpose of preventing unauthorized copying. That would make it difficult to combine tracks from different disks on a "mix" disk, unless there was some method for transferring, not copying the music data. Then, you could move the file around as many times as you wanted to, but it would have to be moved, not copied, so there would only be one copy at any one time.
