I will not argue over the price appreciation, however, in 1996 and 1997 interest rates were higher and Alan Greenspan wasn't in the hip pocket of Wall street. (Alan G. has since come out of the closet.)

If Intel was $37 today, that would give it a forward P/E (for this fiscal year estimates) of around 19? That's a good one. <LOL> I nervously bought a "bargain" dental supply stock last month (PDCO @ $34.75) that has a 20x forward P/E. (PDCO is an exceptional service company and reseller of dental products.) And you would expect the market to ever value a billion dollar R&D driven company like Intel with this same P/E????

Your thoughts kind of remind me of William Magner's expectation of a Dow 5,700. <no G, that guy is serious>
