In light of the latest SDMI news, it will be very interesting to see which technology or technologies is/are selected as the standard.

If Wave isn't selected, we must ask ourselves why? No one else's technology, that I'm aware of, is soup-to-nuts like Waves'. But, like with anything else where money is involved, heavy politics are at play in this arena. Lets hope Wave is in with the good ol' boys or at least one of them.

A Little Night Music For The SDMI...

Maybe, it fails. Too much establishment. Too out of touch with the times. Too many suits. Not enough musicians. Can't carry a tune among the lot of them. I don't care. Here are a few of the reasons why:

American Society of Composers
AT&T
Audible, Inc.
Audiohighway.com
Deutsche Telekom
Dolby Laboratories
National Semiconductor, Inc.
BMG Entertainment, Inc.
Bose Corporation
Broadcast Music, Inc.
Compaq Computer Corp.
AOL
Dentsu, Inc.
Creative Technology, Ltd.
Capitol
Hitachi Limited
Mitsubishi Corporation
Iomega Corp.
Microsoft Corp.
NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc.
Sharp Corp.
Sony Corp.
Texas Instruments
Toshiba Corp.
Hewlett Packard
Samsung Electronics
Sanyo North America
RealNetworks, Inc.
Victor Company of Japan, Limited
Intel
IBM
Philips
Thomson Consumer Electronics

These companies are just some of the members of the SDMI. Step back a moment. There are companies on this list that are very familiar with WAVX already. There are others who, by now, have gotten the WAVX story: patents, copyright protection, security, etc.

Networking is never bad. Unless you're hanging out with, well, you know. La-la-la, la-la-la.

Best Regards,
