No I get it but I was just thinking should a car explode in flames if hit like that. Since many people drive 70 seems like chances are this accident will occur on occasion.

You have me curious now about the location of other manufacturers' gas tanks. THere was that truck case a few years back- with the tank on the side that caught fire when it was hit. And they got seriously sued..

Aren't there regulations about placement? Should there be, thus protecting both buyers and companies? WHen does reasonable expectation of safety end and absurdity begin?
I blame the drunk, sure, but I would sure question whether the proper tests had been conducted and no corners cut.
