Looking farther into Symbian, I see that you can buy shares in Psion from the London Exchange, symbol PON.L, but I still have some checking to do as to exactly how Symbian is related to Psion. It could be that Psion is a holding company with shares in several interesting ventures; ARM, Symbian and perhaps Acorn. I'd appreciate any information or opinion anyone has on trading these London Exchange stocks. Schwab has the facility to make trades, but they don't have real time quotes. finance.uk.yahoo.com I think this is also very important for Symbian. Sharp is the number 2 PDA after Palm Pilot. I think they have about 25% market share. It would be a problem for the Win CE adoption if Sharp switches camp. Sharp may install Symbian OS on Europe mobile PCs TOKYO, July 12 (Reuters) - Sharp Corp said on Monday it was considering installing Symbian Ltd's power-efficient EPOC operating system on its handheld personal computers sold in Europe starting in early 2000. A Sharp spokesman said the firm has been selling the handheld PCs in Europe under the DHC 4600 name since 1997. The PC goes under the Zaurus name in Japan and the United States. Symbian is a joint venture between Psion Plc (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: PON.L), Nokia Corp (NYSE:NOK - news), Ericsson and Motorola Inc (NYSE:MOT - news). The Sharp spokesman, however, denied a Japanese newspaper report that it was planning to sell its new reflective liquid crystal display (LCD) panel to Nokia and Ericsson. ''We have not officially negotiated the matter with the companies, so we have not yet given it serious consideration,'' the spokesman said.
