Paul Allen's Wired World Portfolio update, 7/15/99:

The portfolio gained 4.99% today. This compares to a gain of 0.75% for the NASDAQ composite.

Big gainers were STMP, up 12 5/8 to 45 3/8, and ZD up 4 5/16 to 18 1/2.

STMP rose 38% after the US Postal Service demonstrated STMP's software for buying postage over the Web.

ZD gained 30% after announcing it had hired Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to explore strategic alternatives, including alliances, mergers and the sale or joint venture of some or all of Ziff-Davis's businesses.

Current value of the portfolio is $111,463, up over 11% in 8 trading days.
