New technology on August 2nd...

It's my guess that 3dfx will announce an integrated core logic chipset for the K7, and possibly the P-III. Everybody else is doing it and 3dfx is the only company we haven't heard anything from.

Pat - Sorry. I shoulda said, "Thanks," but I'm on vacation and had trouble getting my fingers to work. 8-) I did print the article out when you linked it, though, to put with my TDFX "competitor background" info. I was particularly interested in the Matrox info. I'd been thinking of buying some and didn't sort of on a feeling that they were good but slow. The article made me feel a lot better - about the ST gain I took on NVDA as well as not buying Matrox.
Regards,
Harry

Yes I read the article. The thing I liked from it best is the timing. NV10 won't even be announced until December, ATI will only match TNT2 this summer. Intel high end next year, GX4 somewhat unknown, Matrox hasn't even shipped G400 yet and it is TNT2 level (maybe a little better if they can fix their drivers) and they are slow to deliver new products. What are they all going to sell for Christmas if 3dfx delivers?

We know that in this industry timing is everything. Look how well the Voodoo3 launched: beat the TNT2 to market by 1.5 months. It wouldn't have done nearly so well if the product timings had been reversed.

3dfx HAS GOT TO GET NEXT GEN PART OUT FOR CHRISTMAS!
