Cobe, trying to catch up on the house woes... Your agent does not sound good. I may have missed this- is she representing both seller and buyer or something? Because she is sure not acting in your best interests. Period. It sounds as if you could have a lot of bad stuff left on this. I can't figure out what the agent is doing--- if the seller said he was going to do these things, then why is she being so casual? Any agent HAS to know a seller's unwritten word is worthless! You are doing all the work!! How badly do you want this house? We put up with some stuff because we loved ours and needed to make the move, and took the hits to get it. It was worth it, but gosh- it sounds as if you're talking MAJOR construction. ALso what a runaround you are getting. Bad taste. But if you don't mind doing battle, O Black Knight, and want the house a lot (a LOT) we'll support you and say awful things about the seller and the agent, and tell you what a great job you're doing! (which you are)
