I gave up on suggesting anything big - it was obvious that they had their heart set on this general concept. Although, on several occasions I couldn't resist telling them that frequent traders need all the information (including Level II) at their fingertips on the same screen without the need to move back and forth.

A few of the minor things I suggested should be changed:

1. On the stock order entry screen I told them that the tagline: "Congratulations! You have qualified for our Power E*TRADE program for active traders!" was totally unnecessary. They only qualify you for these services once a quarter, everybody who qualifies is otherwise informed of that qualification, and the tagline is unnecessary wordage on a page where simplicity is the key.

No change.

2. I noticed that under "Account Services, Move Money and Securities, Send Stock Certificate" the instructions were not valid for requesting physical delivery of a stock certificate. The instructions include references to wiring to a bank obviously meant for wiring money between your personal checking account and ETrade. The wiring wording has nothing to do with requesting a stock certificate whatsoever.

No Change.

3. Also suggested to them that the most frequent transfer frequent multi-accountholders would make is transferring cash or securities between various accounts at ETrade. All of the transfer options under Account Services relate only to transfer in and out of Etrade, none of them deal with transferring between ETrade accounts. The ability to transfer online between ETrade accounts would be a big help.

No Change.

4. I also suggested that on the pull-down menus which show multiple account numbers when you are switching between accounts or when you are seeking portfolio, account balance or account position information you should be able to designate a "default account" which is your most frequently used account. This way, if you wanted account balance information on your most frequently used account you would NOT have to open the pull-down menu and select another account number. They are presently in numerical order and allowing a default account would speed up finding information under Account Services.

No Change.

5. When searching for Transactions there is a nice search feature that allows you to locate given transactions by symbol or date range. However, this feature is NOT available on prior year tax records. If you need to find a given transaction on a prior year transaction you have to load the entire list of all transactions as there is no search feature. Probably not a widely used feature, but would be nice to have.

No Change.

There were others, which I can't remember off the top of my head. I didn't expect them to make a change just because a given reviewer suggested they look at a certain change. But, to be very honest, I don't think they changed a single thing between the beta version and the final release.

The other thing I told them is that alot of us pay another site each month to get quote screens, Level II, scrolling news, etc. which is necessary for frequent trading - I pay in excess of $150/month for this service. I suggested to them they should create a true independent trading site geered only for frequent traders and charge us a little more for the privledge.

To tell the truth I received no response from anyone on any of my comments, large or small, except for an email which simply said thanks for the comments and we have forwarded them to the appropriate person!
