Caxton - Great CDMA 3G conference. I'm still thinking about all the angles. A couple of takeaways though was the brilliant pitch Irwin made to the potential users of EDGE i.e. ATT. He basically said that since the CDMA2000 1X doubles the capacity for voice, in addition to allowing data, you would have to be pretty silly to make the investment in EDGE when when CDMA2000 1X will be available at the same time. Pretty compelling. He made a good case for CDMA in China too. It almost sounded like he might use the funds from the Q offering to subsidize China Unicom in their infra buildout. I am only interpreting here, he just said that the only thing holding them back is the investment capital (and maybe a little politics).

Caxton--congratulations on your excellent question. This says a lot more about EDGE than all the PR from AT&T, NOK et al.
