This is fairly slow as it uses NULL modem serial port cables. I recommend ethernet. You can get a docking station for the laptop that contains an ethernet port or can put in a PCMCIA card. I personally got 3COM equipment with coax cable connectors because then you don't also need a hub (but are limited to 10Mhz).
