I think black would look good. Might be neat if the upper hyperlinks were black as well.

Just a thought.

What if the orange/brown lines above and below the links in the header were replaced with black lines or dark blue lines?.

Jeff,

It's hard for me to visualize what you are proposing, but it sounds kinda dark and cold to me. I'm thinking that it would look better to use a warm contrast color like yellow to keep the page from getting too cold looking. (I'm just talking about the thin contrast lines on the toolbar).

I'm also not following what Cheeky and RTev are proposing as far as the page and message width, but what you have now works just fine for me. (1024 x768 full screen browser window)

I'd also like to see the 'remove subject/next subject' links over to the right, closer to the 'next 10 / respond / previous / next' links.

I admit it's getting better, now that I have boxes around the messages.

The Remove Bookmark and View SubjectMarks should not be so close together. It's an invitation to unbookmark a thread by accident.

Since the cursor is on the right side for view next anyway, the View Subjectmarks should be over there.

I'm not happy, but I hate it less.
