Jeff, I have been wondering for a long time if, in choosing the name Silicon Investor you guys were making an intentional play on the symbol for silicon(Si)?

BTW, don't forget about the Clear 'New Message' counts needs to be placed at the top of our BM page as well, please.

Are we going to get to have the BMs with new messages to appear(as in the old version)
before the whole page loads?

I see now, the color schemes have been morphing over from the stocksite.com design.
Sorry to say that design depresses me and I avoid it all the time.

If that is what the blue/grey/black would look like... argh !
What we have in the beta now looks MUCH better.

I disagree on dumping the gold, I think it looks good as a thin highlight color and in "Investor" on the home page (but I have yet to see any other color options in place of gold, can you fix up some examples?)

I think tan should be retained as the light background color (eg: the chart background on the home page)

Actually the olive(brown) and tan are an attractive combo now that I have gotten used to it... it adds some warmth to the page... grey would just add coldness.

I think the problem is that the secondary color is the most objectionable at the "GO box". It's a major focal point. If the amount of the secondary color surface area were reduced around the GO box - I think it would help. ...just not sure...

Actually, what would it look like if the GO button/box area was dark blue?
---------------

I've been playing with these tools (don't have a recommendation, just playing...)

correlationsystems.com

Other suggestions:

1. I would dispense with the Logout button on the homepage until they register, then make it pop up on the upper right in place of the "FREE Register" icon button. (looking like an appropriate icon, not like the present gold button)

2. If the user is registered maybe you could also make the "FREE Registration" & "Membership Sign-up" options disappear from the 'SI Navigation' drop down list, to simplify it.

Jeff, Thanks for all your efforts on the new beta site. As Caroline said, I don't like it, but I hate it less...

1) On the SubjectMarks page, Is it possible to have the count of new messages very next to the Title instead of 3-5 inches away... I prefer the current red color, it attracts attention

2) When I view a member's posts, I see a lot of space unused...

3) All the thread titles are in light blue... Need to darken a little more... very similar to the current SI site, or even GNET home page

4) I too feel 'Remove SubjectMarks and View SubjectMarks' are too close. Please remove 'Remove SubjectMarks' also the current yellow background is excellent, Why play with that?

5) I fully agree with RTev <<< agree, but the unfortunate thing is that the designers seem to have gotten too much right the first time. Pity they didn't start with gray and move over to the current scheme when the complaints rolled in. Oh well. Too late now.>>>

6) Finally, if the current beta site is almost finished, I prefer to pay an annual fee like 49.95 or so, and have the current SI site with BrowseMaster.

just my 2 cents...
