Sector:

While you Guys are sleeping in the Midwest, I'm just getting home from work.

A small correction - I believe akmike is right about the 60% ownership of HyperChannel with a $1.5M investment by MRVC according to internal info provided by cmg. A question to anyone is HyperChannel business model being "emulated" by other enterprises?? And, why are the going to Gruntal for additional funding?

Sector, I agree with your previous post for the need for $100M especially with respect to especially point 4. But I agree with Web about a need for better understanding for MRVC's strategic direction. I am reposting a excerpt by Ahhaha (Post 14349).

The company is disorganized and trying to get on the right track. Probably if they chose any one of their three trains and concentrated on it while selling the others, they could become the metro express. The attempt to hold the meld cards (Brige Player - Any comment?) is constantly diluting their concentrated effort. They just don't know which will work so none truly gets the push . What environment is needed so that all three are engaged? Is there a synergy between them under competition so that they mutually fend off competitors' possibly better offering? No one asks that. Maybe there is none. Is the CEO trying to move in that direction? I've seen failure in this many times before in companies decades ago whose names you never heard.

While I was working for AT&T I heard the same statements internally and externally (as Ahhaha expressed) about not focusing on core business and getting into computers and so on, etc. etc. Well T divested itself of NCR and Lucent and is now presumably getting back to core with TCI and Media One.

My concern is: Is MRV spreading itself too thin going after the Enterprise, ISP and Carrier markets? Sector, I know you believe the synergies exist (and I do likewise) but will they, can they apply their resources to effectively engage these three differentiated markets. This is my major concern and will affect the potential valuation of future IPOs.

Ron

P.S. Forecast - MRVC will briefly hit 16 5/8 or better next week.
