Scumbria, If the K7 at 500 MHz is selling for about $200 as Paul says, it's not competing with the PIII. AMD has to get the K7
out in a PC quickly or the same pricing fate awaits the 550 MHz K7
soon. Any idea when a PC with the K7 will be available?

Clark,

Why would K7 be positioned against Celeron? It is higher performance than PIII, Xeon or Coppermine.

Scumbria:

AMD can try as hard as they want to position the K7 against non-Celeron processors. But the marketplace will ultimately determine who the K7's competition is. If Mr. Marketplace says K7 competes against Celeron, that's the way it will be.

Because according to your fellow AMD buddy, "Mhz sells" &#8482 - Jim McMannis :)
